Teresa has been a faithful part of Lloyd Church of the Nazarene since 1999 and has served as our Nazarene Missions International (NMI) President since 2003. With a deep heart for global outreach, she helps lead our church’s involvement in missions through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM). Teresa coordinates the collection of Crisis Care Kits, Alabaster offerings, and shares monthly Mission Moments to keep missions at the heart of our church family.
Her favorite part of serving in missions is summed up in her own words:
“There is no place in the world that we don't go to teach about Jesus. We are in the most desperate situations bringing people out of hopelessness and despair. NCM makes it possible to be part of changing the lives of people, even those we never meet.”
Through her leadership, our church remains connected to God’s global mission—sharing the hope of Christ both near and far.
Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the missions arm of the Church of the Nazarene, dedicated to mobilizing the local church to pray, give, educate, and engage in global mission. NMI helps connect our congregation to what God is doing around the world through the work of missionaries, compassionate ministries, and outreach efforts in over 160 world areas.
NMI exists to:
Pray for all people and their needs around the world
Give to missions through offerings like Alabaster and Faith Promise
Educate the church about global needs, cultures, and ministries
Engage the church in hands-on mission opportunities locally and globally
Here at Lloyd Nazarene, NMI helps us live out our calling to go into all the world, making Christlike disciples in the nations.
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) partners with the global Church of the Nazarene to respond to human need in Christ’s name. Rooted in the belief that compassionate ministry is a core expression of the gospel, NCM works to bring restoration and hope to individuals, families, and communities around the world.
NCM empowers local churches to live out compassion through:
Disaster response
Child development and education
Clean water and health initiatives
Food security and economic development
Whether it’s sending Crisis Care Kits, supporting communities after natural disasters, or helping children access education, NCM helps the Church be the hands and feet of Jesus in some of the world’s most difficult places.
As stated in the Nazarene Manual, compassionate ministries are part of the church’s mission to “minister to persons in need and to develop structures of support and advocacy that reflect God’s love and justice.”
Here at Lloyd Nazarene, we’re honored to participate in this global mission of compassion through giving, serving, and prayer.
Crisis Care Kits (CCKs) are a practical way for our church to share the love of Christ with people facing disasters and emergencies. Collected and distributed through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM), these kits provide basic hygiene and personal care items to individuals and families in crisis—whether due to natural disasters, war, or other emergencies.
Each kit contains everyday essentials like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and towels, all packed in a resealable bag. These simple items offer comfort and dignity in times of great need, letting people know they are not forgotten.
At Lloyd Church of the Nazarene, we partner with NCM by collecting and assembling Crisis Care Kits throughout the year, helping to bring hope and relief to those who need it most.
Donations can be brought in and left at our Crisis Care Kits "Care Corner" by the front enterance to the Sanctuary.
